Request from a Neighbor

Got this email recently.  Can anybody help?

Hello,

I am a Kindergarten teacher at Green Lake School.  My class is currently working on a Service Learning Project at Green Lake School where we aim to grow produce to donate to a community food bank.  This project is a small part of our school’s effort to redesign our school grounds Wildlife Habitat.

I am contacting you to ask if you would be able and willing to offer time and advisement to our project.  The PTA at our school has obtained a Neighborhood Matching Grant from the city of Seattle wherein which all time and/or tools and supplies donated to our project will be matched by the city with actual funds.  We are in search of a carpenter to help build a gazebo and tool shed, a Master Gardener with native plant knowledge, and a sign maker to help bring a professional look to our garden. We are also in need of chicken wire, reclaimed lubmber, rakes, shovels and pruners, gravel, a mulcher, and compost and worm bins.

These are just some of the things we are planning and looking for.  If you can help to any degree with our project, we would be so grateful to collaborate with such a great community resource.

Thanks for your time!

Angela Blemker
